The pattern for the top part is like this:
 Just not as high. ;) I used 4 pieces for each top. And then they are just sewn together with the dark sock part as you said. :)

    Could you please post a close-up of the head of your staff, please? What did you use for those balls and how'd you colour and fix them? Thanks!
